Find Files dialog box

This dialog box lets you search folders for a specific filename or all filenames that match a wildcard specification.

Named

Type the name of the file you want to search for into this text box. You can use the wildcard character ? (question mark) as a substitute for an individual character and the wildcard character * (asterisk) as a substitute for any number of characters.

Look in

Enter the folder to begin the search from. You can use the Browse button to select a folder.

Include subfolders

Select this option to also seach in folders under the current folder the search starts from.

Browse

Lets you open the Browse For Folder dialog box.

Files found

During the search, Designer lists the names and locations of files that match the entry in the Named box.

Find Now

Click this button to begin the search.

Open

Click the name of the file in the list that you want to open, and then click this button to open the file.


If Designer lists multiple files found in a search, you can hold CTRL and click file names to select as many as nine files and then open all the files in one operation, even if the files are in different folders.
